I am delighted to welcome you to our school website.
We are a small, friendly and nurturing school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Rooted in our mission, "Learning in the Light of Christ", we strive to create a welcoming, joyful and inclusive community where relationships are built on respect, kindness and compassion.
In June 2026, the Catholic Schools Inspectorate judged Pope Paul to be Outstanding in all areas, recognising that "Christ is unmistakably at the heart of the school" and describing our school as a place where pupils, staff and families live out their faith through service, leadership and a commitment to the common good. Inspectors praised our exemplary behaviour, outstanding Catholic life and mission, and the exceptional partnership between school, home and parish. RE Inspection Report, June 2026
We want every child to:
- be happy, caring and responsible;
- develop a lifelong love of learning;
- achieve their full potential;
- make a positive difference to the world around them;
- grow in faith, confidence and character.
Ofsted recognised the strength of our wider curriculum, stating:
"Pupils learn to care for the environment and for each other. Pupils understand difference and celebrate diversity. Pupils are aware of themselves as members of a local community and the wider world. The curriculum helps pupils to grow into respectful active citizens." Ofsted, September 2022
At Pope Paul, children are inspired to achieve their best academically, spiritually and personally within a caring and supportive community where everyone is encouraged to flourish.
We would be delighted to welcome you to our school and show you what makes Pope Paul such a special place. To arrange a visit, please contact Carol Lennox in the school office: admin@popepaul.herts.sch.uk or 01707 659755.
We look forward to meeting you and your family.
